My name is Brenda Xiomara Ayala Arias. I am 22 years old. I consider myself as a responsable and creative person. I really enjoy spending my time with my family and friends. I like romantic music, specially in English.
I am studying a Degree with a specialization in Teaching English at Don Bosco University. To be honest, I like English since I was a child although I did not understand any word. Fortunately, when I studied in high school I had an excellent English teacher and I am pretty sure she inspired me to be a language teacher.
When I came to the University, I expected to learn a lot of things related to my major. I still learning important information to be a good language teacher. Although teaching languages is a difficult job, I want to share my knowledges with future professionals.
Moreover, one of my main goals is to change our society through education. I think teachers are able to change students' minds in order they do productive things which improve our country. Sometimes, I think why I decided to study this major, and I realized that I like English and I like teaching as well. So that, I consider my major as a "perfect combination". I have had the opportunity to teach English when I did my social service in a elementary school for 7th, 8th and 9th grades. It was my first experience as a teacher. For that reason, I felt really nervous because I did not know how my students will behave or if I explain the lesson properly. Despite all that feelings, it was a great experience; I convinced myself that I really love teaching English. Personally, teaching is a passion rather than just a profession.
Finally, I want ot be a competent language teacher. for that reason, i am studying this career and I am learning as much as possible from my teachers, textbooks, internet, etc. I research different information related to education, technology, students' behaviors, teaching methods and techniques. I aware that teaching languages is not too easy but is what I like the most and I am doing my best to achieve my goal.
"A good teacher who can take the zero pay and help kids develop physically emotionally, socially, is literally an angel" - Eva Amurri
What a nice quote you have cited for this first entry Brenda! Keep it in mind and make it yours for the rest of your life as a teacher.
